AmeriCorps Recruitment
First 5 Del Norte seeks creative, enthusiastic applicants for two AmeriCorps positions with the First 5 Service Corps. The First 5 Service Corps works to end poverty through a two-generation approach, providing services and supports to parents and their children. The two positions will promote early literacy and school readiness in partnership with the Wonder Bus, a program of the Del Norte Child Care Council. AmeriCorps is a national service volunteer program. Members will work 900 hours from August 15, 2020, through August 14, 2021, or approximately 20 hours per week. Members receive an annual living stipend of $8,100. Upon completion of service, members are eligible for an Education Award of $3,097, which can be used to pay for higher education or existing student loans. Census 2020
Nationwide, only 60% of households have returned their census forms. When you're not counted, your community loses federal and state funding every year. Those funds help pay for preschool slots, schools, roads, and so much more. Fill out your Census 2020 form online or over the phone. It's quick and easy. In mid-August, Census workers will start visiting households who have not returned their forms. Learn more in the videos below (in English on the left and en espanol a la derecha).
